It stands to reason that short trips are the ones we are most likely to take.
They require the least amount of planning, cost the least amount of money, and the return on investment of just a couple of days away from the everyday frenzy is immense. It’s often a retreat to a slower pace, cleaner air and beautiful surroundings that includes extra time to enjoy some cigars. May I suggest the Harlow Elite? The Benchmark Harlow humidor series was named for my own father. He was truly a man of class and strong character. But there was most definitely not a single fiber of “elite” in his existence. The Harlow Elite is constructed of a dovetailed solid cedar core, which is covered on both front and back sides with hand cut hardwood veneers of different varieties.
Current selections include American Black Walnut and Quarter Sawn White Oak. From time to time we will come across some rare and highly figured boards and cut veneers from them for an even richer look and feel. These one-of-a-kind selections are typically priced accordingly and never last long.
The solid Spanish Cedar surroundings of the Harlow Elite include a tightly mitered closure to seal in the moisture correctly. Like all other Benchmark Humidors, the Harlow Elite uses Boveda 2-way moisture control packets to provide the optimum RH for your cigars. The Elite’s lid opens on full grain Saddleback Leather strap hinges, is held snugly in place by the tight cedar seal, and as an added measure of protection (if not overkill), we have embedded magnets into the core that help hold it closed.
